Clean up your Database! – It can be worth as much as 500K

Data base cleaning is the one of most important things to do when preparing your iMarketing campaign.

Imagine you have 50 000 contact from different sources in different formats, different quality.

  • If you think you can easily integrate them in some kind of CRM (Sugarcrm) you`re wrong!
  • If you that your contacts are still up to date (emails) you`re totally wrong!
  • If you think that csv file format will easy help you to integrate your all data forgot your campaign for a while.

It is not so easy and obvious as we are used to think about! Performing your campaign straightforward without preparation will be simply the waste of time and resources, unprofessional and sometime against the law.

  • people are mowing
  • data are changing
  • integration rules with multiples management tools are different
  • some don’t wish to be contacted

Yesterday  experiment:

  • I took 30 K contact from our databases
  • Only 4700 had an email address
  • Sugarcrm successfully imported 2730
  • I checked the same with Interspire Email Marketer – imported 4127
  • I verified emails a dresses, from 4700 got only 501 good

In summary

  • Database of 30 000 can be worth (@ 20$ per contact) as much as 600 000$
  • In my case without preparation  it can be only 10 000$ :( for 500 contacts

After tuning :

  • Excel manipulation gives me 4129 contacts imported in Sugarcrm
  • Right setup of email marketing tools gives me 3732 correct email addresses
  • Telemarketing campaign for 25840 contacts will cost me 40 K $

In summary:

  • In immediate terms by tuning my email marketing tools I rose up the value of my database by nearly 60 K
  • Investing 40 K in telemarketing services, if performed to the whole database contacts, will bring me more than 500 000$ of revenue in validated contacts. :)
  • I will have my database up to date and localized in CRM, which should be good point of start for my eMarketing services.
